  I had a problem with the way this company does business. First, drove an hour to get there after calling to confirm they were open. Phone message said they were open. They Weren't. They give me the name of an installer who wasn't willing to even come to the house to look at it. The installation came out almost twice as expensive as what was represented, despite the fact I made the shop aware of exactly how and where the unit needed to be installed. Then, these people had the audacity to run my credit card without authorization. Save yourself the money. Buy one online or at one of the big box places and have someone else install it.

  We have been without working gas stove (which is the main source of heat for our living area) for over 2 weeks now. We bought a very expensive Jotul gas fireplace in December and have had several problems with it. I certainly don't blame the store for a mechanical problem with the stove, but I do blame Tierra Wood Stoves for their total lack of concern. Their terrible customer service is appalling. We are now waiting on a part that was shipped 6 days ago. Shouldn't a business be doing everything in its power to rectify a problem, such as having a part shipped overnight or at the very least showing some concern for customers without heat. A simple "I am so sorry you are having a problem with your fireplace, I apologize" would have gone a long way.. I would also like to add that we are repeat customers and we have bought several stoves from Tierra in the past and have never had any mechanical problems. Now that we are having a problem and Tierra has a chance to show us their great customer service and appreciation for being such good customers, they fail miserably. The only thing they are offering is total indifference. So please be warned, if you ever need customer service from Tierra Wood Stoves, you will be sorely neglected.
