  first of all, i don't sew, and have never considered myself a fabric enthusiast, per se. i was drawn into common thread by the extraordinary window displays--so creative and colorful--before i even realized that it was a fabric store. i found myself wanting/needing to browse through everything; huge bolts of brightly colored silks and printed fabrics, one-of-a-kind textiles from far away places, fun selection of buttons and ribbons (i bought several buttons, even though i could not think of anything i needed them for at the time), unique assortment of scarves and other accessories that would make perfect gifts for any occasion. i live in oregon, so i was thrilled to learn that common thread is launching a website soon! definitely worth checking out if you are visiting, or even live in, taos, NM. you might just realize you have an inner fabric lover too!
